How to Re-use a Plastic Carrier
If you cant avoid taking a plastic carrier from a shop, try to make sure you then use it as many times as possible to minimise the environmental impact. There are lots of ways you can do this.
Ask in charity shops whether they need any carrier bags. They can then use the bags to give to customers, who will hopefully go on to use the bag again and again as well. Similarly, anyone who runs a jumble sale or car boot sale would probably welcome some bags.
You can avoid buying bin liners by using carriers to line bins and collect recycling.

Buying a new home can be greener
Every one of us simpy has to be aware of the environment these days. World leaders are constantly underlining the importance of green initiatives, and one of them, recycling, is something we all tend to accept as part of our lives now. If you’re buying a new home, make sure it’s as ecologically friendly as it can be.
Many properties have compost bins fitted as standard in the garden, for a start. If you’re purchasing a flat, you may well find there are communal areas in the block for disposing of cardboard, plastic, paper, glass and tins.

Go green with recyclable packaging
Many everyday items can now be bought in Recyclable packaging. Some examples of these are paper, glass and plastic bottles. If possible, try to purchase items for which you already know an infrastructure exists locally in which you can recycle.
Some packaging you can buy is also advertised as being biodegradable. Always make sure you recycle this and do not let it go out with your everyday refuse. This is because in a landfill environment the packaging will not biodegrade and it may also give out dangerous greenhouse gases such as methane.
You should also try to keep green by buying packaging that has been recycled, for example recycled cardboard boxes or writing paper.
